Visser will become eligible for Scotland duty in June when he will have spent three years in the Scottish capital where the winger has become a big hit.
The 24-year-old finished as Edinburgh’s leading tryscorer last season and is again topping the charts with five touchdowns in the RaboDirect PRO12.
And in a question-and-answer session hosted on Twitter, Robinson confirmed he is monitoring Visser’s progress ahead of a summer tour that takes in Australia, Fiji and Samoa.
“Tim qualifies in June and yes, if fit, he will be considered for the southern hemisphere tour,” said the coach.
Scotland head into the 2012 RBS 6 Nations off the back of a disappointing World Cup campaign where they failed to make it out of their group for the first time.
But in the decisive games against both England and Argentina Robinson’s men held winning positions for long margins, leaving the coach with plenty of positives to accrue from the campaign.
He added: "Team spirit and cohesion were great and performances to get into two winning positions v Arg/Eng [Argentina/England] very positive."
