Following the completion of the 2012 RBS 6 Nations, Ireland will become the first team to face the All Blacks since the World Cup.

The series kicks off on 9 June at Eden Park in Auckland, a ground that will hold fond memories for the Irish as the scene of their historic 15-9 World Cup victory over Australia.

The second Test on 16 June will be at the revamped Rugby League Park in Christchurch - the southern city’s first taste of international rugby since February’s earthquake before final heading to Hamilton on June 23.

NZRU CEO Steve Tew said: "Ireland really set the Rugby World Cup on fire and it will be great to have them back in New Zealand next year.

"It is particularly special that they will play in Christchurch at the redeveloped Rugby League Park - the first Test match in Christchurch since the Canterbury earthquakes."

Ireland will play a warm up against the Barbarians shortly before departing for New Zealand, with the date and venue to be confirmed.”
