Dimitry Yachvili
Dimitry Yachvili is ignoring how France got there and instead urging them to make the most of their World Cup final appearance
We can be heroes claims Yachvili

Scrum-half Dimitri Yachvili knows he and his French teammates are perhaps fortunate to find themselves in a World Cup final, but he has vowed to make the most of the opportunity handed to him.
Marc Lievremont’s troops booked themselves a place in the showpiece against hosts New Zealand thanks to a narrow 9-8 victory over Wales, but it wasn’t without controversy.

Wales captain Sam Warburton was shown a red card for a dangerous tackle on France wing Vincent Clerc after just 18 minutes by referee Alain Rolland, this incident dominating the headlines.

But with a third World Cup final appearance safely in hand, Yachvili insists that no matter what route they took getting there, the class of 2011 have a chance to make themselves heroes back home.

"We know Wales maybe deserved to win because they had the injury [to prop Adam Jones] and a red card," he said.

"We didn't play our best rugby but we won and we are very happy.

"We started this competition very badly but we are proud because of the team spirit in the French team.

"In 1987 France were in the final and those players for us are legends, but now it's us."
