Mike Tindall
Mike Tindall is facing a fight for his Gloucester place from Henry Trinder

Out with the old and in with the new - that's the message from Gloucester youngster Henry Trinder as he prepares to welcome back England World Cup veteran Mike Tindall to Kingsholm.
Tindall was part of England’s disastrous World Cup campaign in New Zealand before a dead leg sustained in the narrow win over Scotland ruled him out of their quarter-final defeat to France.

In his absence Trinder has been a regular in the Gloucester side this season and with imminent changes expected at England HQ in the coming months ahead of next year’s RBS 6 Nations – the Gloucester youngster has no intentions of surrendering his jersey to World Cup winner Tindall.

“Guys like Mike Tindall and Eliota Fuimaono-Sapolu will be back soon which will be good so I'm sure there will be some banter flying around as well,” said Trinder, speaking at the launch of the LV= Cup at Kingsholm.

“But myself, Jonny May and Tim Molenaar have got our chance to start during these first six weeks so obviously with Mike and Eli coming back us guys have had a few weeks to put our foot in the door and we won't be giving up our spots just because they are back here.

“It's going to be good fun and if they come back and are playing better fair enough but it's going to make me train harder and I want to show Bryan Redpath that I am here to play for the long-term.”
