Sam Warburton
Sam Warburton has issued a war cry ahead of Wales' next World Cup games
Warburton demands victory against Samoa

Captain Sam Warburton has called on Wales to find a new ruthless streak when they face Samoa in a must-win World Cup clash in Hamilton on Sunday.
Warburton was outstanding as the Welsh almost claimed the scalp of reigning world champions South Africa in their opening pool game – eventually succumbing 17-16.

But it is against the minnows where Wales have often come undone, losing to Samoa in 1991 and Fiji in 2007 to miss out on the quarter-finals.

And with Fiji and Namibia to follow, Warburton has demanded Warren Gatland’s men set the right tone by sweeping aside the South Sea Islanders this weekend.

“I would much rather we were not tagged as the underdogs but go into a match and be expected to win it. We must aspire to be the better team,” said Warburton.

“We have got to go for it on Sunday, this is all about getting into the knock-out stages now and we can’t think any other way, we have to win.

“Things have got to change, maybe in the past we haven’t wanted to. But imagine New Zealand and the other Tri Nations teams thinking like that. So we have got to change.”
