The Official Online RBS 6 Nations Store is open. The store has everything you need to get behind your team during the RBS 6 Nations, plus the store is now fully stocked with a much wider range of rugby merchandise.
The Bayonne flyer, who started four of France’s five RBS 6 Nations matches in the 2011 Championship, will not be replaced in the squad according to Les Bleus boss Marc Lièvremont.
With Aurélien Rougerie set to be fit for the two warm-up tests against Ireland, Lièvremont felt there was no need to bring in an extra winger.
“There is absolutely no reason to replace him [Huget] with a 34th player,” said Lièvremont.
“The injured players have returned to action so I don’t see why we would have called someone in from outside.
“We were always planning to take 14 backs. Aurélien Rougerie had a good start to the week with convincing display in training on Tuesday.”
Meanwhile Huget could face a ban of between three or 24 months if found guilty.
The 24-year-old took the decision to leave the group immediately rather than to continue with the squad while preparing his defence.
“I prefer to leave the squad now rather than when they are really stepping up their training for the World Cup and thus put them in difficulty, knowing that I would not be able to be replaced," added Huget.
