Dave Attwood
David Attwood's injury has opened the door for Kitchener to start at Sixways
Kitchener aiming to make most of Atwood absence

Lock Graham Kitchener is determined to lay down a marker in the Churchill Cup final after coming in for the injured Dave Attwood for his final appearance at Sixways as a Worcester player.
Kitchener, 21, who has been snapped up by Premiership giants Leicester Tigers this summer, will partner Mouritz Botha in the boiler room and both know they have to impress if they have to make Martin Johnson’s 45-man World Cup training squad which is announced on Monday.

In-form England face Canada as they look to retain their title following comprehensive wins over USA (87-8) and Tonga (41-14).

And Kitchener wants to finish his three-year stay at Sixways on a high,

"It's bad luck for David Attwood to be injured but I need to take my opportunities and I'm excited and ready to play,” said Kitchener.

“I've been on the bench and now I want to be on the pitch and playing, especially at Worcester.

"It'll be good to go back there, get a start and win the Churchill Cup. I'd like to think that I'd get a warm welcome.

"Sixways has been a special place for me for the last three years. I'm really looking forward to being back and I hope people are looking forward to seeing me."
