Scotland scrum-half Greig Laidlaw does not want to pick up a Jack-of-all-trades tag despite playing a starring role at No.10 in Edinburgh's win over the Ospreys.

Laidlaw kicked 13 points in a man-of-the-match performance as the Gunners ended a seven-match losing run at Murrayfield.

But with the likes of Rory Lawson, Chris Cusiter and Mike Blair providing plenty of competition for the Scotland No.9 shirt and preventing Laidlaw from adding to his one cap during the 2011 RBS 6 Nations, the 25-year-old knows his verstality has as much potential to be a curse as a blessing.

"I don't want to get caught between two positions," said Laidlaw.

"I might have a word with the coaches, but we'll wait and see.

Speaking before the game, Laidlaw added: “I'm not going to fall into that trap," he said firmly. "I've worked hard as a scrum-half to get to where I am.

“I've been capped by Scotland there and I'm looking to pick up more caps there as well."
