After three consecutive victories and Ireland’s thrashing of England earlier in the day, Wales headed into the French clash with a mathematical chance of taking the RBS 6 Nations title.

But a ruthless display from the home side easily put paid to those hopes – leaving Davies to agree with the thoughts of his boss.

“It was disappointing,” said Davies.

“We didn’t turn up and I thought it was a shocking performance by us individually and collectively.

“We didn’t plan to play like that but sometimes it happens and now we have to regroup and stick together through these tough times. We feel lousy and we don’t want to feel like this again.

“We didn’t click at all. Now it’s up to us to build again going towards the World Cup.”
