Cathal Marsh scores a try for Ireland's development squad against England Under-19 academies
Ireland Under-20 head coach Mike Ruddock has handed Leinster's Cathal Marsh a first start at fly-half in Friday night's RBS 6 Nations clash with high-flying England in Athlone.
Marsh comes in for Paddy Jackson who has been called up to the Ulster squad along with centre Luke Marshall and wing Craig Gilroy.
Connacht’s Tiernan O’Halloran gets the nod on the wing while exciting Munster youngster JJ Hanrahan starts at inside centre.
And Ruddock will also be without injured captain Niall Annett who is replaced at hooker by David Doyle while No. 8 Jordi Murphy takes over the captaincy.
Last time out Ireland were denied victory by the width of a post as Jackson missed a last minute conversion in a 26-26 draw with Wales in Llanelli.
That result left them fourth in the table ahead of a clash with England who, like the senior team, are chasing Grand Slam glory.
