Tindall worry for Dublin showdown

England captain Mike Tindall is a major injury worry for the Grand Slam decider against Ireland heading into the final round of RBS 6 Nations matches.
Tindall was withdrawn at halftime of the 22-16 victory over Scotland by Martin Johnson after rolling his ankle at Twickenham

Although the 32-year-old was able to receive the Calcutta Cup from his future mother-in-law Princess Anne, he would later leave Twickenham with his left foot in a protective boot.

After undergoing X-rays, England’s medical team have opted to continue to assess Tindall's condition before making any further announcements on his fitness.

Bath powerhouse Matt Banahan impressed when he replaced Tindall for the second half and would be in pole position to fill the No.13 shirt.

No.8 Nick Easter would also seem set to inherit the captaincy from Tindall, himself a stand-in skipper for Bath flanker Lewis Moody who has missed all of the Six Nations so far with a knee injury,

After the match Tindall revealed his substitution was a precautionary measure.

He said: “It is never nice coming off at half-time. I just rolled my ankle and it is not worth risking it when you have someone like Matt Banahan to come on.”
