But despite a lack of game time, Davies has been hard at work in training and is raring to seize back his No.13 shirt.
“I feel good,” he said. “I trained on Wednesday with the aim of getting a good week's work in to put myself up for selection.
“I'm really pleased. I was told to rest this weekend, but you do not really need a game because training is intense and sharpens you up.
“As far as I'm concerned, I'm ready to go.”
Davies’ return to the first XV would mean James Hook moves either back to fly-half or onto the bench.
It would also reunite Davies with inside centre James Robert and he maintains the pair can form an effective midfield combination in the long term.
He added: "People say we have similar traits, but I think we bring different things to the table. We complement each other quite well.
"Jamie is a strong ball carrier, while I'm trying to develop my ability to put people into space.”
