Wilkinson plays down NFL move
1 March 2003, 2:08 pm
England's Jonny Wilkinson has played down reports he is considering an imminent move across the Atlantic to pursue a career in American football, but admitted he might consider a switch in the future.
The Newcastle fly-half is England's record points scorer and is currently concentrating all his efforts on helping Clive Woodward's side clinch the RBS 6 Nations title.

However, the 23-year-old revealed he could one day be tempted to move stateside and ply his trade in America's National Football League.

He told The Journal: "I am enjoying what I am doing and want to make the most of the chance I have got.

"But I do like to keep an eye on what is going on in the NFL and that does hold some serious interest for me."
