Wales response to England defeat pleases Under-20 boss Edwards
Wales Under-20 coach praises pack

Wales Under-20s coach Darren Edwards picked out his side's pack for special praise after his young charges easily saw off Scotland 33-3 to get their RBS 6 Nations campaign off the ground.
Wales narrowly went down 26-20 in their opening match with England but, much like their senior counterparts, they bounced back in impressive style against Scotland, running in five tries.

Debutant prop WillGriff John - one of the try scorers - earned special praise for his man-of-the-match performance while also on the scoresheet were Eli Walker, Ieuan Davies, Owen Williams and Ed Siggery.

Edwards – who is now juggling his Under-20 role with that of caretaker coach at welsh region Newport Gwent Dragons – and his side now have a week off before they take on winless Italy.

And having shown their prowess up front against the Scots, Edwards admits his side can now look forward to a change of pace.

“It was really good to see a Welsh pack of forwards dominating all aspects of the game,” said Edwards.

“We carried on where we left off last week against England and we looked more like a team as the game progressed.

“WillGriff had an outstanding game coming in for his first cap. I thought his scrums were pretty good and his tackling was even better.

“Now we can take the pace out of our training and talk a little bit more about our tactical game.”

Meanwhile Wales flanker Luke Hamilton and Scotland full-back Glenn Bryce have both been cleared after being sent off for punching in the closing stages.

The pair were facing a ban after receiving their marching orders but Bryce was found to have been wrongly identified by the referee while the committee did not feel Hamilton had thrown a punch either.
