Robinson calls on old heads to follow youngsters' lead

Scotland coach Andy Robinson has called on his young guns to maintain their level of performance and for some of his older heads to step a gear for the RBS 6 Nations clash with Wales.
Joe Ansbro and Richie Gray were both making their first Six Nations starts in the Stade de France but emerged as Scotland’s standout performers in their 34-21 defeat.

Despite running in three tries, Robinson has demanded better from his troops and believes the rest of the team would do well to follow the lead set by Ansbro and Gray last week.

He said: “We need to respond from last week, be able to play at the same level of intensity, but to be better organised in our defensive capabilities.

“The players that have been selected have got another opportunity to perform, for some of them to back up their performances of the week before – Joe Ansbro being one of those players, Richie Gray as well.

“For the guys that were disappointed in their performances, this is the opportunity they get to put that right. I'm confident the players will do that.

“What's important is consistency and being able to look at the side and move forward.”
