Italy team manager Marco Bollesan remains confident that fly-halves Ramiro Pez and Diego Dominguez will both be fit for their RBS 6 Nations match against England on March 9.
Rotherham fly-half Pez sprained his ankle during the All Stars match in Treviso in early February and suffered a recurrence of the injury during Saturday's loss to Ireland in the Stade Flaminio.
"I have spoken to Pez and it seems his injury is not that serious and he will be called for the match against England," Bollesan said
Veteran Azzurri fly-half Dominguez, who suffered a thigh strain in the match, remains a doubt.
Dominguez, who plays for French side Stade Francais, has returned to Paris to undergo further tests.
"It seems that Diego's injury is more complex," added Bollesan. "But he has 15 days to recover and he should be called for the match. Whether he will play will be John Kirwan's decision."
Italy sprung the surprise of the tournament on the opening weekend, defeating Wales 30-22, a match which Pez missed because of his ankle injury.
