Scotland tries no consolation to Robinson

Scotland coach Andy Robinson was left frustrated after his side conceded four turnover tries in their 34-21 RBS 6 Nations defeat in Paris.
Despite scoring three tries of their own – the same number they had managed in their previous eight Tests – Robinson could only rue France’s ruthless precision from turnovers.

Hence Alastair Kellock, Kelly Brown and Alastair Kellock’s tries counted for nothing for Scotland who are still looking for a first Six Nations win in the Stade de France.

And those scores were of little consolation to a bitterly disappointed Robinson.

“It’s really frustrating, they scored four tries when we had the ball,” he said. “We have to be a lot better with ball in hand.

“We have to be ruthless. We are here to win Test matches.”

Robinson, however, seemed unconcerned by the struggles of the Scottish scrum.

Despite giving up a stone a man in the pack, the French were completely dominant scoring a penalty try as well as pushing Scotland off a scrum in a dangerous position in their own 22.

“It was a very good French scrum. They got the benefit of the referee’s decisions and got the better of the hit.

“But the penalty try was the right decision. It had gone down a couple of times so he had no option.”
