The 32-year-old Cardiff Blues man was one of the stars of the 2010 Six Nations, winning three man-of-the-match awards, and continued his good form during a first series win in Argentina and a memorable victory over South Africa in November.

But despite five wins in their last six matches, the Scots are still underdogs to win for only the second time in seven attempts at the Stade de France.

“It's a really great stadium to play in. The French people are going to get right behind their team,” said Parks, who started the last time Scotland beat France in 2006.

“We're going to hopefully spoil that party - that's our plan, to go there and impose ourselves on the match.

“France are an exceptional team and we're going to have to be at our best to win the match.”

Meanwhile Andy Robinson meanwhile pinpointed the scrum as one of the match’s decisive clashes.

Last year the Scottish set piece suffered at Murrayfield against Les Bleus and Robinson is expecting another tough afternoon’s work for his front row – this time including tighthead prop Euan Murray.

“"What our front row needs is the help of the whole pack because it will be a very physical game for them,” said the former England coach.

"A lot of questions will be asked of our front row and we will deal with these questions as a pack.

“Last year France dominated us because they were able to control set-pieces so that is the key area for us.

“If we achieve that I'm confident in the ability of our front row to take the game to France.”
