Successful goalkicking from Francois Gelez as well as tries from Fabien Pelous in the first half and Clement Poitrenaud, Damien Traille and Aurelien Rougerie in the second secured victory for the home side and boosted their spirits after their disappointing 25-17 defeat to England at Twickenham.

"Like after every match I am satisfied with some of the things we did but we also made mistakes in some areas," Laporte said.

"I am happy because we managed to prevent the Scots from scoring any try but on the other hand we lost a lot of ball.

"Those mistakes prevented us from putting as much pressure as we wanted on Scotland. But the first line was conquerant enough and allowed us to win balls and kick wide.

"As a whole I would say that I am happy, but no game is ever perfect and we have a lot of things to work before Ireland."

Young fly-half Gelez was satisfied with his performance.

"I knew that I was awaited and more watched that usual," he said. "That is maybe why I took more time than usual to kick the ball.

"I am satisfied with how I've done, it is good for my confidence. I know that I missed one kick but things like that happen. It means I have more work to do.

"But the most important is that we won by 35 points."

Laporte will announce his squad ahead of their Ireland clash on February 26 and insists there should not be any major changes.

He said: "We are going to discuss tomorrow and Tuesday about that with (team manager) Jo Maso but we have both been very satisfied with the quality of trainings this week and the motivation that the players showed.

"We are just going to pray that there will not have too many injured ones this weekend in the league games.

"The squad is fine the way it is. It is good for us to have won after the defeat to England. We will definitely go to Ireland to win."
