Scotland have never won a Six Nations encounter in Paris and Robinson has made three changes from the team that won their final two matches of their autumn test campaign.

Nick de Luca and Max Evans come into the centre and Nathan Hines replaces Richie Vernon in the back row.

And Robinson insists his troops know what to expect from Les Bleus and has made his changes accordingly.

“It’s getting the balance of players who can go toe to toe with the French in the first 20 minutes,” he said. “We’ve got to not only match them, we’ve got to take them on.

“They’ve picked a pack with [Imanol] Harinordoquy and [Julien] Pierre that they want to get a very good lineout performance from.

“That indicates that they may play more of a set-piece game and may kick the ball a bit more, particularly with Traille at full-back.

“Nathan Hines brings that raw aggression and physicality and I think that’s important to us. It’s also about having the ability to take on the French lineout.

“We’ll still look to move the ball. Nathan is a very good ball player and has good mobility.”
