Andy Robinson wants more from his Scotland squad
Robinson calls for Scots to raise their game

Andy Robinson believes Scotland have to find some consistency if they want to improve on last year's solitary RBS 6 Nations win this time around.
Since their impressive victory in Dublin on the final weekend of last year’s tournament, Scotland have beaten world champions South Africa 21-17 as well as securing a first series win in Argentina.

But with a trip to the Stade de France first up for Robinson’s troops, where they have not won in 12 years, the former England boss is not taking anything for granted.

“If you look through history, Scotland have always been able to produce one-off performances – what we want is to be able to do it week after week,” said Robinson, who is preparing for his second Six Nations in charge of the Scots.

“Last year, we felt we underperformed but I think what the South Africa game showed for us is the level of performance we can get to.

“The France game is the perfect challenge. Everybody’s saying how unpredictable the French are, but we have huge respect for the way they play the game and the threats that they have.

“It’s important when you haven’t played together for a while that you get your fundamentals right.

“That’s something we are focusing on, making sure our set piece is very good and our defensive framework is set up.

“If we can do that, I’m confident we can perform. But, if we’re not at our best, we’ll get beaten.”
