Inverness to host Scotland under-20s

Scotland under-20 head coach Peter Wright has urged fans to come out and watch the next generation of Scottish stars after it was announced Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC would again be a host of an RBS 6 Nations fixture.
Tulloch Caledonian Stadium hosted last year’s clash with France and is now set to be the venue for Ireland’s second home game of the championship on February 25.

The setting gives supporters from across the north of Scotland the opportunity to see a host of rising talent in action – and admission to the game is free.

Last year Scotland drew 8-8 with France – Alex Blair scoring all the home side’s points – and Wright believes another star could be in the making in his current bunch of players.

“The under-20s is a great vehicle for exposing guys to quality rugby and helping them develop good habits,” he said.

“I was forwards coach with the team when we went to Inverness last season and it was a really positive occasion.

“The fans turned out in force, gave us great backing, and showed the passion that exists for the game in the north.

“I’d encourage as many people as possible to come along for the Ireland match next month. It will be another top night of rugby and a chance for people to see some of our best young talent in action.”
