The 28-year-old made his first start for the Aviva Premiership side in their 28-22 defeat to Sale after making his debut as a replacement at Wembley on Boxing Day.

The 31-cap star played at outside centre at the weekend but has been tipped for a place in the Wales team at inside centre – much to the bemusement of Davies.

“Henson doesn’t deserve to be anywhere near the squad and I think everyone is fed up with it,” said Davies, who won 37 caps at fly-half for Wales.

“He had an hour in a position he doesn’t play (against Sale), but it was his choice to go to Saracens. Unless he plays he is not considered, simple as that.

“You can’t pick a guy on a reputation of one or two games. If he comes back and plays and deserves a place, so be it.”
