But having been given the boot from the reality world, Henson – who has been training with new employers Saracens but hasn’t been able to play due to his TV commitments – could return to action on December 17.

And Henson is very clear in his immediate goals once he gets back on the rugby wagon – to win back his Wales place in time for the RBS 6 Nations.

“I’m going to concentrate on my rugby now,” said Henson – who made it to the semi-finals of the TV programme. “I’m keen to get into the Six Nations squad and the Rugby World Cup is coming up.

“I think maybe the television side of it is not going to happen for a while now.

“I hadn’t played rugby for nearly two years. It was a struggle injury-wise, for my body and form. I wasn’t in a very positive place and I needed to sort that out.

“But I’ve got my energy and my drive back now.”
