England women head coach Gary Street hopes that an electric atmosphere can spur his team on to victory when they return to Twickenham to face Scotland in the RBS 6 Nations in March.
The losing World Cup finalists played New Zealand at Twickenham in 2009 in front of a then world record crowd of over 12,000 fans following the England men’s match against the All Blacks and emerged 10-3 winners.

England women hope to defend their RBS 6 Nations Grand Slam crown and win the competition for the sixth year running when it begins in February.

Twickenham will offer free entry to the public and fans that have tickets for men’s Calcutta Cup match can stay on and watch.

“It will be fantastic to play at the home of English rugby again. When we played at Twickenham a year ago against New Zealand the atmosphere was very special,” said the England boss.

“We are certainly hoping that the tremendous support we received in that tournament will continue for the Six Nations.

“When England play Scotland it is always a big game, and I am sure with the men and the women playing on the same day and at the same venue then it will be a passionate and thrilling encounter.”

England kick-off their campaign with fixtures against Wales, Italy and France before the Twickenham showdown with Scotland and a final game with Ireland.
