Morrison backs Scots to keep getting better

Centre Graeme Morrison believes Scotland are heading into the 2011 RBS 6 Nations in great shape following back-to-back wins over South Africa and Samoa.
The Glasgow Warriors back played in all three autumn tests with Andy Robinson’s men bouncing back from their 49-3 mauling by New Zealand to extend their recent upturn in form to five wins in six.

And the wins were all the more impressive as they did it all without key figures Chris Cusiter, Johnnie Beattie, Simon Danielli, Alastair Kellock and Alasdair Strokosch.

Scotland will start the Six Nations in their best shape for years and Morrison said “We can’t really think too far ahead, just focus on the first game against France, but I believe if we improve we can beat any team in the competition.

“It’s great there’s a lot of competition now in the squad and we’re just looking forward now to getting back together for the Six Nations.

“The recent wins have done wonders for confidence and morale. It’s all about consistency and when we get those wins under our belt the squad can remain positive.

“We’ve shown a certain level of inconsistency and we probably need to step up if we’re going to try to compete in the Six Nations.

“I believe the group of players that we’ve got are really special. We get on so well together and if we keep on improving when we come together then I believe we have got something special in the tank.”
