Henson talking up rapid Wales return

Gavin Henson admits he is fully focussed on regaining his place in the Wales backline for the 2011 RBS 6 Nations despite his 20-month sabbatical from the pitch.
The ex-Ospreys star was given a boost after boss Warren Gatland talked up his chances after they brought their curtain down on a sorry autumn series with a defeat to New Zealand.

The 28-year-old has been dogged by injuries and personal problems and has moved from South Wales to Premiership outfit Saracens in a bid to resurrect his flagging career.

Henson is still appearing in Strictly Come Dancing before he makes his Sarries bow but he said: “The boys haven’t really done too well so I’ve probably got a good chance of getting back in.

“It was nice Warren was thinking about me for the Six Nations - that’s my plan and I’m training with Saracens and doing my rugby training.

“I’m feeling good. I’m not too far off the pace so before the end of the year I should be playing and hopefully get a couple of games in before the Six Nations.

“I’m not sure how the comeback is going to go as I’ve not played for so long but I want to be in that Six Nations.

“I think we are due another Grand Slam now - 2005, 2008 and 2011, hopefully.

“It’s always been in my plan, in my diary to try and get back into the Six Nations, to do well and go on to the World Cup.”
