Phillips wants Wales to regain respect

Wales will come out fighting like a wounded animal when they face New Zealand on Saturday according to scrum-half Mike Phillips.
Warren Gatland’s charges have endured a torrid autumn so far – losing to Australia and South Africa before drawing 16-16 with Fiji last weekend.

And the task of escaping from this slump is not made easier by the fact Wales have not beaten the All Blacks in 57 years.

But British and Irish Lion Phillips – who looks set for a recall to the starting XV – has warned the Kiwis to take nothing for granted against a Wales side desperate to avenge an autumn of agony.

"We've hurt for the last three weeks, so we should have a lot to give next week," said scrum-half Phillips.

"It's a big week ahead, and we've got to put things right and get respect back from our fans.

"New Zealand are obviously far better opposition, and we've got to switch on and focus far better than we did [against Fiji]."

"We can turn it around, without doubt. We've got to pick ourselves up and we've got to do our talking on the pitch, simple as that."
