Parks was on fine form with the boot to ensure victory for Scotland
Parks on target to shock world champions

Dan Parks picked up where he left off in the RBS 6 Nations to inspire Scotland to a stunning 21-17 victory over world champions South Africa.
The home side, who were humiliated a week ago against New Zealand, relied on Parks to kick all their points, while the Springboks struggled to breach a solid Scottish defence at a wet and windy Murrayfield.

Despite a late try from Willem Alberts, the world champions were unable to overhaul Andy Robinson's men, who secured their first win against their visitors in eight years.

South Africa had got off to the better start with two early penalties from Morné Steyn, but Parks gradually dragged his side back into the game with three penalties and a drop goal to put Scotland 12-6 up just before the break.

Steyn got one penalty back at the end of a tryless first-half before drawing the Springboks level seven minutes into the second-half.

But South African indiscipline gave Parks the chance to get the Scots back into the lead, and he duly obliged with three penalties to put the home side 21-12 up with twelve minutes to play.

With less than ten minutes to go, Alberts crashed over from a lineout but South African replacement Patrick Lambie could not add the extras.

The South Africans threw everything they had at the Scots in the final stages, but the hosts held on for a nervy four point victory.
