And the Leinster winger, who has faced Graham Henry’s men only once in his 15 caps, feels that they will raise their game in their attempts to spring an upset and clinch their first ever victory over the All Blacks.

“I’ve only ever played them once so I don’t bring much baggage into it myself,” said Fitzgerald.

“I don’t think about the record and I don’t think it’ll have much effect on the game.

“Everyone is aware they are a very talented team but I think we are as well so everyone will look at it as a big opportunity for us to change the record books a little.

“It’s always going to be a bit skewed in their favour but we want to bring it back a bit more.

“I was happy with my performance last week against Samoa but I still think there are a few things I can improve but I feel that I’ve put my best foot forward.

“Games like this are the ones you look forward to the most, so I hope I’m involved.”
