Robinson calls for complete Scotland performance

Andy Robinson believes if Scotland are to ever beat New Zealand they cannot lose focus for even five seconds at Murrayfield.
The dominant All Blacks brushed England aside at Twickenham last week after a ruthless clean sweep of six wins from six in the 2010 Tri-Nations.

Hooker Keven Mealamu is the Kiwi’s only absentee from the triumph over Martin Johnson’s men due to his suspension being upheld, so Hikawera Elliot will debut.

Scotland are undefeated in four internationals off the back of their 2-0 victory in Argentina and make five changes, welcoming back Mike Blair as captain as Rory Lawson drops to the bench.

Rory Lamont replaces injured winger Simon Danielli with Euan Murray starting at tighthead and Glasgow duo Richie Gray and Richie Vernon standing in for Warriors team-mates Alastair Kellock and Johnnie Beattie.

Greg Laidlaw is waiting in the wings for a possible debut off the bench and Robinson knows every single player will need to be switched on if the unlikely upset is to occur.

"We can't drop off for even five seconds, we have to be concentrating and be alert to every opportunity," said Robinson.

"What they are all very good at is doing the basic skills very well, time and time again.

"We'll only know on the day, and there can't be any excuses.

"We've worked our best in my experience of preparing teams for international teams, that's all we know.

"As well as England played in that last 15 minutes, and they did, the All Blacks' line held, even when a man down.

"That just shows you their ability, under real pressure, to make good decisions.

"The pace they play at, the decision-making under pressure, that's what I've liked most about what I've seen from them.

"We make sure the moves we use are simple to get over the gain line fast and we get everyone involved in the game early.

"Everybody should get a feel of the ball or make a tackle early to get the collective edge in how we play.

“Our execution has to be right, what we do off lineout and scrum, but it's our work rate that is most important.

“The guys have to be back on their feet as quickly as possible and that's what I've been delighted with in this squad so far this past week."
