Johnson is calling for intensity from his players against Australia
Johnson calls for fortress Twickenham

England manager Martin Johnson has urged his troops to use the Australia clash as the beginning of a new era of dominance at Twickenham.
Since Johnson took the Red Rose hot seat in 2008 England have won just six of 13 at HQ while under Clive Woodward the side went 22 games unbeaten over four years.

But after coming up short against New Zealand last weekend Johnson will hope the introduction of Dylan Hartley at hooker – in place of Steve Thompson – will make the difference in the only change to his starting XV.

And although they face the daunting task of coming up against an impressive Wallabies backline, Johnson still holds hope that England’s home fortunes can be turned around.

"We want teams to come here and not look forward to playing," Johnson said.

"You only do that by performance. It doesn't happen any other way. You have to go and play with intensity and accuracy and make it bloody difficult for them.

"We are expecting a very hard Test match and a tough challenge. We were disappointed with things we did last week but it is good to have that as a reference point.

“We didn't start well enough last week, defensively we compounded errors and suddenly they are scoring. You can fix those things up."
