Edinburgh's win moves Moffat's side into fourth in the Magners League

Edinburgh head coach Rob Moffat was pleased with his side's bullish approach in their 21-9 win over Treviso on Friday night.
A third consecutive home win was cemented through tries by Netani Talei and Kyle Traynor tries either side of the interval with David Blair adding 11 points with the boot.

Tobias Botes claimed three penalties for the Italian side but it couldn’t wipe the smile off Moffat’s face.

“It was a good result for us”, he said. “The four points are crucial for moving us up the league.

“We have gone through spells where we have altered our game style.

“The game was not pleasing on the eye but we have played some great rugby against sides like Northampton but ended up losing the game so the win is crucial.

“Obviously against Treviso our first aim was to win the game. However, if we play well against any team we should be able to get five points so it was a shame we could not achieve that.”

Elsewhere Glasgow Warriors overcame Aironi 33-8 but coach Sean Lineen was understandably pleased with the return of talismanic captain Al Kellock to his side.

“To get five points is really important for the team, we needed them, but to score four tries from the outside backs says a lot.

“It was also great to see our captain back in the side. He’s one of our real leaders and a talismanic figure.”
