Kiwi-born Hape relishing All Blacks test

New Zealand-born Shontayne Hape admits that although there is divided loyalties amongst his family - he is fully focused on proving himself for his adopted homeland.
The 28-year-old Bath centre, who switched codes in 2008, will play against the country of his birth for the first time after winning 14 international caps for the Kiwi's rugby league side.

Hape spent five years at Bradford Bulls and, after qualifying for English residency, is eagerly anticipating being on the opposite side of the ceremonial Haka.

"Facing New Zealand at Twickenham is going to be a special moment for myself," said Hape, who earns his third England cap against the All Blacks.

"It's the tradition and the culture to do the Haka, a special part of their preparation, and I'm now fortunate enough to experience it on both sides.

"If I was going to give any advice to my teammates, it'd be to stand tall and respect it, but once kick-off comes, all that is forgotten about and it's about a test match we are looking to win.

"There will be divided loyalties in my family. There's people back in New Zealand supporting them but whatever the result - either way there will be a winner for them.

"My wife and my two kids over here, who were born here, know where it's at because England is home for us.

"I just can't wait to get out there in front of 80,000 screaming fans."
