Andrew Kelly and Ross Rennie also come in for Moffat’s men, replacing the rested Ross Ford and Roddy Grant, while Mike Blair, now match-fit but struggling through illness, is named as a replacement.

After losing their first three Magners League matches, Moffat is eager to continue the revival and he maintains that results are superior to performances at this stage of the season.

"There was a lot to be pleased about in our display last Saturday," said Moffat.

"But we said all along that getting the win was what counted above all else.

"Mike Blair's fit enough to play, but he’s had a bug and as a precaution he'll be on the bench.

"Greig Laidlaw has been putting his hand up for a while now and deserves his opportunity.

“The challenge this week is pretty clear - keep performing positively, keep trying to hurt the opposition, and make sure we maintain that edge from first to last."

Glasgow Warriors host reigning Magners League champions Ospreys on Sunday and their new Scotland call-up Ruaridh Jackson is determined to maintain the form which attracted Scotland coach Robinson’s attention.

"With my stop-start season last year, I was just focussing on getting a good run of games with Glasgow,” said Jackson.

“I feel that I have put my hand up a bit at the start of the season and, fingers crossed, I’ll get rewarded with my first cap.”
