Leinster coach vows to take the fight to Sarries

Coach Joe Schmidt insists Leinster will go on the attack in their Wembley clash with Saracens - despite the absence of Ireland captain Brian O'Driscoll.
The 31-year-old has failed to recover from the hamstring injury he picked up in the impressive win over Top 14 leaders Racing Metro last weekend.

Schmidt saw his side run in five tries against the French outfit and wants more of the same against the Aviva Premiership high-fliers.

“Leinster have enjoyed some memorable games in the Heineken Cup over the last few years and we are looking forward to facing Saracens in what will be a real test for the squad,” said Schmidt.

“In the Heineken Cup you can’t relent for one moment and we know that we have to build this week and over the coming rounds – it is a tough group, but we have every confidence in the quality of our squad.

“We will approach this game in a positive fashion, as we have done all of our games this season.”

Ulster’s Stephen Ferris looks set to be back for Sunday’s game against Biarritz after their opening 30-6 win over Italian side, Aironi.

Ferris has missed matches against Glasgow and Aironi having picked up a shoulder and rib injury in the match against Connacht at the end of September.

The Ireland flanker is chomping at the bit to return to action and said: “I can’t wait to get out on the pitch and represent Ulster in such an important game.

“It’s been tough missing the past few weeks, particularly the match against Aironi where there was quite a lot of open play and I’m desperate to get going again.”

Munster will be without the suspended Sam Tuitupou for their home game with Toulon so Johne Murphy will deputise.
