Traynor: We must improve

Edinburgh's Kyle Traynor is focusing on the positives following their defeat to Cardiff Blues, but the prop admits improvements are needed ahead of next week's clash with Northampton Saints.
The Gunners picked up a bonus point in their narrow 18-17 defeat to the Welsh side in their Heineken Cup Pool 1 clash, while the Saints squeezed past French outfit Castres 18-14.

And with Jim Mallinder’s men heading to Murrayfield for their Saturday lunchtime showdown, Scotland international Traynor insists only some minor adjustments to get their campaign back on track.

“We need to improve our performance again ahead of next week because we know Northampton are a top side so we need to tweak a few things ahead of next weekend,” said Traynor.

“They’ve got some top players who are really good scrummagers, so we’ll need to be at our best to deal with that, but it’s an exciting game and you always want to be challenged by the best.

“We’ve still got an away bonus point in the Heineken Cup, so we’ll take that back to Edinburgh with us and look forward to Northampton Saints, which is a massive game and hopefully we can kick-start our Heineken Cup campaign.”
