Dai Young
Young has led Cardiff to second in the Magners League table
Young happy with Blues expectations

Cardiff Blues coach Dai Young insists his troops can live with the expectation that comes with being branded Heineken Cup contenders.
The Blues kick-off their European campaign this Saturday when Edinburgh are the visitors to the Cardiff City Stadium.

Young’s men have made a stunning start to the season – winning four of their opening five Magners League games to sit second in the table.

And Young said: “It’s not something I’m running away from or trying to suggest isn’t the case – I’m really pleased people are starting to fancy us.

“I’m really pleased people outside our camp recognise us as a quality team.

“From our point of view, we’re not doing any shouting indoors; we’re certainly not making any bold statements.

“But we believe that if we play to our potential, it’ll take a good team to beat us. That is our focus.

“We’re still in the early days of regionalisation in Wales. If you look how many years Ireland have been going as provinces and how long it took them to win the Heineken Cup.”
