Bath's earlier tries had come from prop Duncan Bell, Shontayne Hape and Matt Carraro, with Olly Barkley contributing all four conversions and a penalty - but it was performance of Williams that left Meehan purring.

"He's a big, strapping young guy with bags of potential," said Meehan.

"I didn't quite realise how big until I saw him standing next to Shontayne in the dressing room.

"We knew we had something with Ben but we didn't know how much.

"He'll need to talk a bit more on the field, but we know he's physically very strong and he has very good skills and he's going to get better.

"He is in a good position at the moment where we can drip-feed him in and pick and choose when we play him.

"I would be quite happy to take him away and start him in some of these European matches.

"He's equally comfortable at 12 or 13. He'll see a lot more time in a Bath shirt this year."
