England hopeful Topsy Ojo helped himself to a hat-trick as London Irish crushed Newcastle Falcons 46-12 at Kingston Park to go top of the Aviva Premiership.
Delon Armitage cut through the Falcons’ defence to set up Ojo for his first, before the wing crossed over for a fine solo effort to bag his second.

Jimmy Gopperth reduced arrears with a try, only for Jonathan Joseph to extend the lead again.

Dan Bowden helped himself to two tries before Ojo completed his hattrick, before Alex Tait scored a late consolation.

Bath got back to winning ways as England international Shontayne Hape grabbed his first try of the season in a 31-16 win over Sale.

Duncan Bell, Matt Carraro and Ben Williams also went over with England exile Olly Barkley converted all four and added a further penalty.

Sale could only manage the solitary try through Wame Lewaravu late on while Paul Williams adding 11 points with his boot.

A late Nicky Robinson helped Gloucester to a narrow 22-20 victory over Wasps, who had Dan Ward-Smith and Joe Simpson go over the whitewash – the latter on his first start of the season.

Elsewhere struggling Leeds were no match for champions Leicester who ran out easy 48-6 winners – scoring eight tries in the process.

And new-boys Exeter were easily brushed aside 40-13 by Harlequins – fly-half Nick Evans collecting a 20-point haul in the process.
