Ireland and Munster No. 8 Denis Leamy has sung the praises of Ireland head coach Declan Kidney after he was called up for a training camp with the national squad.
Leamy has not played for seven months due to a knee injury but has targeted a pre-season training return at club level and now appears to be in the mind of Kidney.

The training session was organised for those players who were unavailable to tour Australia and New Zealand with the rest of the squad.

The 28-year-old Leamy will be joined by the likes of Paul O'Connell, Stephen Ferris and Luke Fitzgerald as Ireland look to get back on track ahead of their November Tests, and the 41-capped star is delighted to be back in the fold again.

He said: "It's nice to be kept involved by Declan and it's great news to be given the call to join up.

"He's an excellent communicator and it's a major strength. You always feel wanted and part of the squad. It's good to be kept in the loop.

"But I know I have to get in the Munster team first before I think about playing for Ireland again."
