Centre Jamie Roberts notched the only try of the game for the tourists with their other points coming from a Stephen Jones conversion and a Leigh Halfpenny penalty – Wales’ only points before the interval.

New Zealand – with seven changes to their starting line up - led 13-3 then with Cory Jane crossing for a 26th minute try with Carter’s extras, and two other penalties, doing the damage.

Carter added three more penalties after the break due to more Welsh indiscipline and despite Roberts’ late try giving the tourists hope the home side had the last laugh.

Carter’s replacement Aaron Cruden found a way through the visitors’ defence to score and Richard Kahui converted to stretch the Kiwi’s winning run over the Welsh to 23 games.
