Lineen thrilled with Aramburu arrival

Glasgow head coach Sean Lineen has completed a hat-trick of signings after confirming the arrival of Argentina international Federico Aramburu.
The 30-year-old utility-back has agreed a two-year deal after being lured away from Dax and joins fellow new recruits Colin Shaw and Ryan Wilson.

But it’s the arrival of Aramburu who will excite the Firhill faithful after he bagged a try in the Pumas 2007 World Cup semi-final defeat against South Africa.

Lineen said: “Federico is a quality player with loads of experience having played at international level.

“He’s coming here to play rugby and will add real quality and competition to our outside backs.”

Aramburu has also played for Perpignan and Biarritz but can’t wait to test himself in the Magners League.

“Signing for Glasgow appealed to me because they are a club performing well in the Magners League and Heineken Cup,” said Aramburu.

“The team enjoyed success in reaching the Magners play-off last season and their future ambitions match my own.

“This year is an important one as the World Cup approaches so to play for a club that is performing well is essential for me.”
