Scotland A to take heart from senior team

Scotland A coach Sean Lineen has vowed to use the senior side's win over Argentina as a source of inspiration when they face Namibia in their second IRB Nations Cup clash.
Lineen watched on from Bucharest as Andy Robinson’s troops sunk Argentina 24-16 – the Pumas first ever defeat in Tucuman – courtesy of Dan Parks who kicked every point.

Scotland’s victory over Argentina came just days after the A side fell to a 22-21 opening-game IRB Nations defeat to Georgia.

And Lineen has called for his troops to take notice of the senior team and get back to winning ways against Namibia.

“The way the Scotland team played was outstanding,” said Lineen. “They moved the ball well and defended outstandingly well and that is something we are looking to aspire to.

“Everyone’s delighted with the senior team’s brilliant victory in Argentina and that should inspire us against what is another World Cup outfit in Namibia.

“Namibia play an attacking brand of rugby so it will be a good game – there’s no doubt about that.”
