The golden boy of English rugby has experienced a turbulent year since making his senior international debut in the 2008 RBS 6 Nations. Cipriani came off the bench against Wales and Italy, and was due to make his first England start against Scotland before he was photographed outside a London nightclub the night before the squad was due to travel to Edinburgh. He was duly dropped but recalled to the starting XV against Ireland when he dazzled the Twickenham crowd with a stunning 18-point display. A fracture dislocation of his right ankle on London Wasps duty in May prevented him touring New Zealand, but he recovered four months ahead of schedule to play in the autumn internationals. However, a series of indifferent displays saw his stock drop somewhat. Cipriani, who can play at fly-half or full-back, came through the Wasps academy - breaking into the senior side in the 2006/7 season.
