Scrum-half Alessandro Troncon was recalled to the squad for the RBS 6 Nations matches against France and England, after 90 caps. His is Italy`s most capped player but was dropped after the 56-13 defeat to France at the end of the 2005 6 Nations. A former captain of the national side he is a combative player who formed a legendary half-back partnership with Diego Dominguez in past seasons. The pair played together in a record 35 matches. In 1999 he scored two tries against France and one against Spain and took part in Italy's all three games in the World Cup.
