Much to his own frustration, Sweeney has developed into Wales' super-sub, although he did start against the Pacific Islands in November. But heading into the RBS 6 Nations, 18 of his 29 caps have come as a replacement. Sweeney is accomplished at both fly-half and inside centre. He played alongside Neil Jenkins at Pontypridd for four years before moving to the Celtic Warriors, and then the Dragons. Sweeney made his Test debut against England in 2003, and played in the last World Cup. He was not involved in last year's RBS 6 Nations.
