He has spent the majority of his career in the shadow of regional colleague Martyn Williams. He suffered a serious ankle injury two seasons ago but came back to tour Australia in the summer of 2007 and started the post-World Cup Test against South Africa. He has found chances limited following the return of Williams but is developing into a powerful performer, altought he lacks some of the link-up skills of the veteran.
