Alix Popham established himself in the Wales side during 2007, playing at both blindside flanker and No.8, and he featured in all four of Wales’ World Cup matches. Popham was first called into the Wales squad in 2000, but it was not until 2003 that he made his Test debut. Popham is a former Under-21 captain, and his career has taken him from Newport via Leeds to Llanelli, where he has flourished. Popham helped the Scarlets reach the Heineken Cup semi-finals last season.
