Gough spent three years out of the international set up before being recalled by Mike Ruddock in 2005. He is a real workhorse and hits rucks with a real ferocity. He is a tough tackler and, while not the most athletic of second rows, he does win his share of the ball at the lineout. He won his 50th cap in last year's Grand Slam clinching win over France.
